More on Video drivers in Linux
I read some more about NVIDIA graphics drivers. I wanted to know why the workaround mentioned in my previous post worked, which was installing the CUDA package I downloaded about a month ago in order to get the X window System working again. After each boot-up or attempt to boot and run the X window system, a log of events is created, a file /var/log/Xorg.0.log .
So just now I typed:
$ more /var/log/Xorg.0.log [ENTER]
to view today’s log-file during boot-up. It’s quite intimidating and I vaguely understand the contents of this log file …
